Judging Process
Entries are reviewed by communications professionals from outside North Carolina to ensure fairness.
In 2026, members of the Minnesota Association of Government Communicators (MAGC) will serve as judges.
Judging Requirement
To keep the program strong, NC3C requires that members who submit entries also serve as judges for a partner organization’s awards.
If you cannot judge, you may appoint a colleague in your organization. Failure to meet this responsibility will result in a $25 per-entry penalty fee to the organization and will be assessed the following year during the awards cycle.
This partnership ensures unbiased, professional evaluation, when you win an NC3C award, you know you earned it.
Judging Criteria (six areas):
- Problem/Opportunity Statement: Why the project was needed
- Intended Goals or Outcomes: The measurable objectives
- Project Details: Key information and approach
- Documentation of Achievement: Results, data, media coverage, or participation
- Overall Execution: Creativity, clarity and effectiveness
Entries must earn at least 65% of points to be considered for an award. Top two qualifying scores may receive first- and second-place recognition.
